  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 3 tbsp water


  • Combine the chia seeds and the water in a small bowl. Stir well.
  • Wait for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture should be gel-like and thick. Then go ahead and use it in your vegan recipes.

Zoe's Notes

  • This recipe is a great substitute for one regular egg.
  • Do not recommend Chia Egg Replacers in vegan recipes that require 3 or more eggs.
  • If you don’t like black spots in your desserts because of black chia seeds, white chia seeds also work well.
